I’m Heather Kitchen—a photographer, food stylist, and devoted home cook based in Upstate South Carolina.
I specialize in food, fine art, and client work rooted in authenticity. Whether I’m capturing a quiet moment on the coast or plating a blueberry shortcake in my studio kitchen, my approach is the same: thoughtful, real, and grounded in honest light.
Over the years, I’ve built a career photographing landscapes, ruins, and stories from the Deep South—imagery that now lives in homes, offices, and collectors' galleries. More recently, I’ve expanded into food and process photography, working with local restaurants, regional food brands, and passionate creatives looking to elevate their visual storytelling.
From my Spartanburg studio, I handle everything in-house: cooking, styling, photography, editing. I use a large-format lightbox to replicate natural light in a controlled setting—giving food that honest, daylight feel with consistency and precision. It’s a hands-on, real-food approach backed by decades of visual experience.
