Welcome to Studio Notes
A black and white photograph of Lake Bowen Dam near Inman, South Carolina, captured under overcast skies. The industrial structure appears weathered and symmetrical, evoking quiet resilience.
Welcome to Studio Notes — a quiet corner of my studio where I share what drives my work, how I connect with the subjects I photograph, and the ideas behind the collections I build.
I’m a photographer based in South Carolina, working across fine art, food, portraiture, and performance. My images often come from still moments — of light, of weather, of memory — rooted deeply in place. Whether I’m shooting a lighthouse at low tide or a still life for a regional food brand, I’m chasing something quiet but unmistakable.
These entries are not tutorials. They’re reflections — part visual journal, part field note — meant to give you a glimpse into the world I photograph and why. I’ve been working in photography for many years, and like most artists, I’ll never stop learning or evolving. That’s part of what I love about the medium.
A black and white photograph of seabirds standing in the shallows along the shoreline at Folly Beach, South Carolina. The birds are spaced calmly in the remnants of a receding wave, evoking stillness and coastal quiet.
I believe that showing up with care matters just as much as showing up with a camera. And while I may mention what I’m working on or what’s currently inspiring me, these notes are written with the intention of sharing perspective, not instruction.
If you're here as a collector, a future client, or simply someone who connects with the kinds of images I make, I’m glad you’re here. This is a space where I think out loud — and occasionally, leave breadcrumbs behind for others to find.
